Coorg and Wayanad sit on either side of the same Western Ghats ridge: two highlands of coffee, cardamom and pepper, cool of air and generous in silence, which is exactly what classical Ayurveda asks of a cure. This 05 night / 06 day retreat splits its stay between them. Your first three nights are in a Coorg plantation wellness stay, where the resident Ayurvedic physician takes your consultation and dosha assessment on arrival and prescribes a personal therapy plan: full-body Abhyanga with warm herbal oils, the deep-rest Shirodhara, herbal steam, and where indicated, Pizhichil, the sarayu of Kerala therapies in which warm medicated oil is poured continuously over the body while being kneaded. Every day opens with yoga and pranayama on a misty plantation deck, and meals are sattvic full board, cooked with produce from the estate. Between treatments, Coorg shows its gentle side: Abbey Falls under coffee boughs, the monolithic Talakaveri source of the Kaveri, the Tibetan monastery at Bylakuppe with its golden stupas, and Dubare, where you can stand in the river beside bathing elephants. On day four the road crosses into Wayanad, Kerala, for two nights of forest-edge Ayurveda: therapy continues as prescribed, and excursions add the island-studded Banasura Sagar dam, the prehistoric rock shelter of Edakkal Caves, and wildlife drives at the Tholpetty or Muthanga ranges where elephants and bison cross the track. Departure is via Kozhikode (Calicut) airport, or back through Mangalore or Bengaluru; the retreat can extend to 7 or 14 nights for a deeper cure, or link onward to our Kerala Ayurveda programmes at Somatheeram.

- None at all. Sessions are taught for all levels, therapies are gentle and supervised, and the physician tailors everything after a personal consultation. First-timers are the majority of our wellness guests.
- Sattvic Ayurveda vegetarian full board: fresh, seasonal, dosha-specified meals cooked with estate produce, plus herbal teas and Coorg's own honey and spice infusions. Alcohol and caffeine beyond your morning filter coffee are best avoided during the programme, and the physician shares a take-home diet chart.
- Fly or take the train to Mangalore (3.5 hours by road) or Bengaluru (5.5 hours); Mysuru also works from Bengaluru side. The trip ends in Wayanad with a Kozhikode (Calicut) airport transfer, about 3 hours, so you fly onward without backtracking. All transfers are private and included.
- Five nights works beautifully for rest, de-stress and a first taste of Ayurveda with sightseeing. For therapeutic goals like joint care, spine and neck work or burnout recovery, classical Ayurveda recommends 7 to 14 nights; the same retreat continues with deeper sequences. Tell us your goal and we will size the stay.
- October to May offers the best weather for sightseeing and open-air yoga. The monsoon (June to September) is considered ideal in classical Ayurveda for purification therapies, and the hills are at their greenest; excursions simply flex around the rain.
