Haryana feeds Delhi, and this weekend takes you to the fields where that happens. Your base is a working farm stay in the state's green heartland: spacious rooms around a courtyard, mango and guava orchards, dairy sheds and golden mustard fields that blaze in winter. Days here run on the farm's own rhythm: a bullock-cart ride to the fields, charkha spinning and pottery with village artisans, cowshed visits and fresh chaach (buttermilk) under the neem tree, and Haryanvi meals straight off the land: bajra khichdi, kadhi, makki roti with white butter, and churma. On day two the road carries you two hours north to Kurukshetra, the land of the Mahabharata: the enormous sacred tank of Brahma Sarovar, Jyotisar, the marble chariot marking where Krishna is said to have delivered the Gita, the Sri Krishna Museum, and the bsarik shrines of Thanesar, with time for a light-and-sound show by the water in the evening. You return to the farm for a bonfire night, and on the last morning take a slow village walk and a big farm breakfast before the drive home. Travel is door to door by private AC car from anywhere in Delhi NCR, which makes this the easiest weekend in our countryside collection.

- Yes, and children usually love it most. Stays we work with have en-suite rooms, filtered water and reliable power backup, the food is mild and home-style, and activities like pottery, cart rides and animal feeding are designed for young guests. We match the property to your family's comfort level.
- Haryanvi home cooking at its best: bajra and makki rotis with white butter, kadhi, bajra khichdi, seasonal sabzis from the fields, fresh chaach from the farm's own milk, and churma or gud ki kheer to finish. Vegetarian is the default and Jain or low-oil requests are easily accommodated.
- Between 2.5 and 3.5 hours by private AC car depending on the farm and your starting point in the NCR. Door-to-door pickup is included, so there are no stations or transfers to arrange. Kurukshetra sits about two hours further north for the day trip.
- October to March is ideal: cool mornings, golden mustard fields in bloom and bonfire evenings. April brings the wheat harvest and tractor rides; summers are hot, so we shift activities to early mornings and evenings.
- Easily. The farm sits on the road to Chandigarh and the hills, so our Chandigarh & Pinjore Gardens short break or the Shimla, Chail & Kufri weekend slot straight on top. Kurukshetra also connects to our Punjab Heritage Circuit for a longer spiritual journey.
