The Char Dham Yatra is the most sacred pilgrimage circuit of the Indian Himalayas — four abodes of the divine, each dedicated to a different aspect of the almighty. This exclusive helicopter programme compresses the classic fortnight-long road yatra into 5 nights and 6 days, flying from Dehradun to all four shrines and back. Begin at Yamunotri, source of the River Yamuna and abode of Goddess Yamuna, reached with a palki or pony from Janki Chatti. Fly on to Gangotri, where the Ganga descends to earth at Gaumukh and where Goddess Ganga is worshipped at the shrine facing the Bhagirathi. Continue to Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, set at 3,583 metres among snow-clad peaks. Conclude at Badrinath, the most important of the four dhams, where Lord Vishnu is enshrined beside the Alaknanda at 3,133 metres. Every leg is accompanied by local sightseeing with a guide, special darshan arrangements, and all meals — vegetarian as well as Jain. Weather permitting, the helicopters offer panoramic views of the Garhwal peaks, making the yatra as breathtaking as it is blessed.
