Karnataka Heritage & Hoysala Wonders β€” A 7-Day Private Journey through Royal History & Sacred Stone

This curated 7-day private tour takes you deep into the heart of Karnataka's architectural and cultural history. Start in **Bangalore**, the dynamic 'Garden City,' exploring Tudor-style royal palaces and historic gardens. Travel to **Mysore**, Southern India's cultural capital, renowned for its spectacular Indo-Saracenic royal palace and sacred Chamundi Hills. En route to Hassan, stop at the island fortress of **Srirangapatna**, the historic capital of Tipu Sultan.

The tour's highlight lies in **Hassan**, the gateway to **Belur** and **Halebidu**. Here, discover the 12th-century Hoysala soapstone temples, whose intricate, lace-like stone carvings depict legends of Hindu mythology in breathtaking detail. Before returning to Bangalore, visit the sacred hill of **Shravanabelagola** to marvel at the 57-foot monolithic statue of Lord Bahubali, carved from a single block of granite in 981 AD. You'll travel in a private AC vehicle with a dedicated driver, staying in boutique hotels and heritage properties.

What to Wear
Light, breathable cotton garments. Temples require modest dress (shoulders and knees covered). You must remove footwear before entering temple premises; carrying thick socks is highly recommended to protect feet from hot stone slabs.

Currency & Tipping
Indian Rupee (INR). ATMs are widely available in Bangalore and Mysore, but carry cash for small purchases, guide fees, and shoe storage at temples in Belur, Halebidu, and Shravanabelagola.

Photography Tips
Soapstone carvings at Belur and Halebidu look spectacular in morning or afternoon cross-light. Tripods are generally prohibited inside temple sanctums. Handheld photography of outer carvings is permitted.

Getting Around
Your private AC sedan/SUV and driver will cover all inter-city drives and temple excursions. Within Bangalore and Mysore, auto-rickshaws are useful for short hops. Climbing Vindhyagiri Hill in Shravanabelagola is on foot.
Food icon
Food & Water
Drink only bottled water. Sample regional Karnataka delicacies: Mysore Masala Dosa, Bisi Bele Bath, and Mysore Pak sweet. Hassan offers traditional South Indian vegetarian thalis.
