Beginning in Delhi, the route sweeps through Sariska — Rajasthan's quieter tiger reserve in the Aravalli hills — before reaching legendary Ranthambore, where tigers prowl around a 10th-century fort. A swing through the Pink City of Jaipur and the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra precedes the dream-like cenotaphs of Orchha and the UNESCO World Heritage sculptures of Khajuraho. Then deep into Madhya Pradesh's jungles: Bandhavgarh — India's highest tiger density — and the vast sal meadows of Kanha, Kipling's Jungle Book country.
